Jamie has wanted to be a vet since at least age seven when her family vet let her watch a dog spay! She grew up in a small town in New York and got the ‘travel bug’ after her parents sent her to travel around Europe after high-school graduation. During her undergraduate degree, she participated in a study abroad program and lived in Australia for six months, which got her even further hooked on living abroad! Jamie then moved to London to pursue a veterinary degree from the Royal Veterinary College. In her second year of vet school, she met her husband Martin; and after graduation, he was trying to get transferred to New York City but instead got the offer to move to Hong Kong. Keen for a new adventure, they were both very excited about the prospect of living and working in Asia. Jamie accepted a position at the SPCA Hong Kong and they packed their bags and dog Ralph and set off.
After working in the position the Assistant Senior Veterinary Surgeon at the very busy Hong Kong SPCA, Martin was offered a position in far away Bermuda. The timing was excellent as the Endsmeet veterinary team was seeking a new surgeon! After packing everything up and lots of shipping logistics they have finally settled here in Bermuda. Jamie brings a dynamic surgical approach and is used to the fast paced and emergent medicine practiced here. We are thrilled to welcome her to our team!
