Meet Bug! This kitten came to us at 4 months old with a fractured right hind limb. After an x-ray and consultation with Dr. Nick, it was decided that Bug would have his leg repaired, and an external fixator added. An external fixation device may be used to keep fractured bones stabilized and in alignment. The device can be adjusted externally to ensure the bones remain in an optimal position during the healing process.

After surgery Bug was on strict rest which is tough on a bouncy kitten feeling so good! He would be back for weekly bandage changes and pin adjustments as his leg healed.

Bug is now six weeks out from surgery, has had his pins removed and is on cage rest for two weeks, after which no more treatment will be needed! He was a very brave Bug and his family are thrilled to have him back!
